Her new home was near shops and restaurants, but she was no longer able to get out on her own. She had spent much of the past year alone and in bed, as her husband worked during the day and she could not leave the house without him. It was the end of a long day for me and I was preoccupied with my own worry as I began the evaluation process. Together, we strategized how she was going to reclaim her independence. Together, we made a plan for her physical health as well as her emotional and spiritual well-being. We laughed, we cried, we hugged when I left.
